Christie Who?

I am a full time freelance web developer and have been involved in the industry for over 13 years. While I hold a degree (in Imaging and Digital Arts from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County), most of what I know I learned from working in the field, pushing my limits, and having a strong curiosity about the web.

I've made my mark with CSS, XHTML and Cross-browser compatibility and keep up to date with the latest web standards, including table-less layouts, and SEO-friendly tactics. I work on and own both Macs and PCs. All my sites are tested on both systems, with 5 different browsers, and pass all XHTML 1.0 and CSS validations.

Front end or backend, it makes no difference, I'm also proficient in PHP programming and MySQL database solutions. I've used these to create several dynamic websites and complex web applications. My back-end experience on the LAMP bundle led to a natural foray into Content Management Systems. I have built over 30 websites in Drupal; from PSD to launch, theming to solution building, Drupal is my favorite CMS to work with. I am also very well versed in Wordpress and Joomla, and have spent some time with Etomite, E-magination, Sitellite, and Ektron.

I've also built a handful of E-Commerce Solutions with software such as ZenCart, X-Cart, IMS Cart, GoDaddy, and PayPal. I've built sites inside of frameworks such as Smarty and Zend, and have have developed websites for notable companies such as Lax World, Gear Wrench®, DHL Global Mail, and Johns Hopkins International. I also have experience with RSS Feeds (Web 2.0), ASP, Flash Development, JavaScript, and frequent website designs.

I have in the past and/or currently collaborate with companies such as NOVA Web Group, MindGrub, Carton Donofrio Partners, Inc., Balance Interactive, GMMB, Orange Element, The Berndt Group, Visionmark Communications, The American Psychological Association, Digital Division, as well as dozens of small business owners.
